The Tanakh Teaches Theosis

The Tanakh teaches that humanity should become God. This is the doctrine of theosis, also known as deification. Overt and subtle examples are below from the Jewish Publication Society version of the Tanakh. More examples of the doctrine of theosis are in teachings of Jewish authorities. https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Bible/jpstoc.html

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." (Genesis 1: 26-27)

"For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. ... "That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. "God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations." (Psalm 82)

"And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's." (Obadiah 1: 21)
